France - Saint Gervais les Bains - Cascade des Thermes - L : 24m - H : 60m

General Access : (Google Map)
Drive to "Le Fayet", then enter the park of "Les Thermes" (Thermalism), go to the end of the parking.
From there, follow the footpath direction "Passerelle des Thermes". You will arrive to a small bridge crossing the gorge, the highline is doing the same just over the passerelle. 15mn

The line :
Where ?
Just over the passerelle, from a tree on the left river of the gorge, to an anchor on the right.

Who - When ?
Opening : D. Mercier and friends in summer 2004.

Anchors : (Bring the bolt hangers !)

- Left river of the gorge : There are 3 big trees. The first next to the cliff is used for force and backup, then it is possible to link it to the other behind.
- Right river of the gorge : If you go up from the passerelle in the bush, you will find a good belay with chain (from the dry tooling climbing site). From here belay down 2 meters to find 2 12mm bolts that will be the force anchor. The backup will be fixed to the upper belay, and redirected with a carabiner on the force anchor to remain under the line. Bring the bolt hangers.
 
Linking :
From each anchor throw a rope to the passerelle. Then link them together.

Rigging :
Pulleys are useful if you don't like loose lines but it is possible to do without.

Remarks : 
The cascade under makes noise.

Accès Général : (Google Map)
Aller à "Le Fayet", puis entrer dans le parc thermal de Saint Gervais. Se garer au fond du parking.
De là, suivre le chemin en direction de la "Passerelle des Thermes". On arrive sur la passerelle qui enjambe les gorges. La highline fait de même un peu en aval. 15mn

La ligne :
Où?
Juste au dessus de la passerelle, entre un groupe d'arbres rive gauche jusqu'à des points dans la falaise rive droite.

Qui - Quand ?
Ouverture : D. Mercier et amis l'été 2004.

Ancrages : (Apportez les plaquettes !!)
- Rive gauche de la gorge : il y a 3 gros arbres. Le premier près de la falaise sert pour la force et le backup. Il est préférable de le relier aux autres derrière.
- Rive droite de la gorge : Un peu plus haut que la passerelle, il y a un bon relais sur chaîne (pour le site de dry tooling en dessous). D'ici faire un rappel de 2 mètres pour trouver 2 spits de 12mm qui serviront d'ancrage de force. Le relais plus haut servira au backup, et on le déviera avec un mousqueton sur l'ancrage de force. Apportez les plaquettes.
 
Passer la ligne :
Lancer une corde depuis chaque ancrage vers la passerelle. De là les relier.

Tension :
Les poulies sont utiles si vous n'aimez pas les lignes molles, mais on peut s'en passer.

Remarques : 
La cascade fait du bruit en dessous.
