France - Le Rozier - L'Inespérée - L : 42m - H : 120m

General Access : (Google Map)
Drive to Le Rozier, then go to the Gorges de la Jonte (1km), park on the first good parking on the right of the road. From there take the footpath on the left side of the road. You will pass left to a climbing sector called "Cathedrale" and go up to a small gorge (fixed ropes), then arrive on the top of the cliff. 45mn.

The line :
Where ?
The Inespérée is situated between the base of the "Vase de Chine" to the "Roche décollée".

Who - When ?
Opening : J.Millot, H. Langel, A. Lewis, J.Schradi, M.Toquard, T. Melet in June 2009.

Anchors :
- Vase de Chine side : From the main footpath, step down to go behind the vase de chine. You will find spits to install a belay that will allow you to belay down from 5m to access the anchors on the overhanging cliff under. There are 5 12mm spits (3 for force and 2 for backup).
- Roche décollée side : To go on the top of the Roche décollée.
2 options :
Climb the 120m west angle (3 pitches - 6a+ max)
OR
From the main footpath, walk up the main cliff, to find a small path on the right that lead to a 2 pitches belay. You will arrive on the north face of the Roche Décollée. From there climb up a 25m 5b pitch. Walk a bit, jump the characteristic gap of the Roche Décollée and head for the north west angle. There are 5 12mm spits + 2 bolts (climbing belay) + a good tree for backup

Linking :
Really hard, if you don't have a bow and arrow. We dropped a 160m rope from the Vase de Chine side to the ground, and then climbed the 120m west angle to link the two anchors.

Rigging :
The two anchors are suspended (no platform), so we used a removable pulley technic to get the line without any pulley in an anchor. The pulleys were installed on the Vase de Chine anchors. It is possible to use the weight of somebody to rig the line, because the cliff is overhanging. Rigging very engaged.

Remarks : 
This line has been set for the 2009 Natural Games, as well as the King line and the Princess line.
It is one of the most complicated line to set. Long approach, long climbing, hard linking, hard rigging. Once done, it remains also hard to cross.

Aller à Le Rozier, puis suivre les Gorges de la Jonte (1km), se garer sur le premier bon parking sur la droite. D'ici prendre un chemin qui part à gauche de la route. Passez au pied du secteur "Cathédrale" pour monter dans un canyon (cordes fixes), et arriver en haut sur le plateau. 45mn

La ligne:
Où?
L'Inespérée est située entre la base du "Vase de Chine" et la "Roche décollée".

Qui - Quand ?
Ouverture : J.Millot, H. Langel, A. Lewis, J.Schradi, M.Toquard, T. Melet en Juin 2009.

Ancrages :
- Côté Vase de Chine : Du GR, descendre pour passer derrière le Vase de Chine. De Là, trouver un relais pour descendre en rappel de 5m afin d'accéder aux ancrages situés dans la falaise déversante au dessous. Il y a 5 spits de 12mm (3 pour la force, 2 pour le backup).
- Côté Roche décollée : Pour aller au sommet de la Roche décollée.
2 options :
Escalader le pilier ouest 120m (3 longueurs - 6a+ max)
OU
Du GR, continuer en remontant jusqu'à trouver un petit chemin sur la droite qui mène à un rappel en 2 longueurs. Vous arriverez au pied de la face nord de la Roche Décollée. De là escalader un 5b de 25m; Marcher un peu, sauter le creux caractéristique de la Roche Décollée, et se diriger vers le pilier nord ouest. Il y a 5 spits de 12mm + 2 scellements (relais) + un bon arbre en backup.

Passage de la ligne :
Super compliqué, si vous n'avez pas un arc et une flèche. Nous avons lancé une corde de 160m à partir du Vase de Chine jusqu'au sol, et escalader le pilier ouest de 120m pour relier les 2 bords.

Tension :
Les 2 ancrages sont dans le vide (pas de plateforme). Donc nous avons utilisé un système de poulies qui s'enlèvent pour ne plus avoir de poulies sur les ancrages. Elles étaient installées côté Vase de Chine. Il est possible d'utiliser le poids de quelqu'un pour tendre la ligne, car la falaise est déversante. Tendre cette ligne est une opération engagée.

Remarques :
Cette ligne a été ouverte durant les Natural Games 2009, tout comme la King Line et la Princess Line.
C'est une des lignes les plus compliquées à installer. Approche longue, escalade longue, passage de corde compliqué, tension difficile.
Une fois ceci effectué, elle est aussi difficile à passer.
