France - Ravin des Arcs (Saint Martin de Londres) - Indian Style - L : 15m - H : 15m

General Access : (Google Map)
From Montpellier, take the road going to Ganges, pass by Saint Martin de Londres and park the car a few kilometers after on the left or the right of the road, there is a big parking and it is written "Ravin des Arcs".
Then you need to take a north, north-west direction and follow the path for about one kilometer. Best thing is to follow the Lamalou river if there is no water (in summer), otherwise cross the river, continue on the path which is going away from the river, and after climbing a bit in the mountain, take left off-piste, it is going down in the bushes and stones to join the river. The access from the car is about half an hour.

The line :
Where ?
The line is located between a big oak tree on the left side of the river, and a box tree and a bolt on the right side of the river. The line is situated just after a small hanging over part of the canyon, which reduces the width to 10 meters.

Who - When ?
Opening : Frédéric PASCAL and Tancrède MELET on March 2010

Anchors : (bring 1 12mm bolt hanger)
- First Anchors (right side of the river) : a box tree and a 12 mm bolt (take the bolt hanger with you)
- Second Anchors (left side of the river) : a very big oak tree
Both backups in the trees behind.

Linking :
There is a ford near by, so it is easy for your partner to cross the river even if there is water. Then you can throw the webbing to your partner where the canyon is narrow.

Or you can bow and arrow it...

Remarks : 
Very nice highline for beginners. After spending the day trying it, Fredéric PASCAL was near to give up. I then crossed it go and back quickly before uninstalling it, and it gave back motivation to Fred, who crossed it easily in the end!

De Montpellier, prendre la route allant à Ganges, passant par Saint Martin de Londres et se garer quelques kilomètres après sur la route, il y a un gros parking indiqué "Ravin des Arcs".
Ensuite il faut prendre direction nord, nord ouest et suivre le chemin sur un kilomètre. Le mieux est de suivre la rivière Lamalou si elle est sèche (en été). Sinon traverser la rivière, continuer sur le chemin qui s'éloigne de la rivière, et après un peu d'escalade dans la montagne, prendre à gauche hors piste. On descend dans les buissons et les pierres pour rejoindre la rivière. De la voiture il faut 30mn.

La ligne :
Où ?
La ligne se situe entre un gros chêne rive gauche, et un buis avec un goujon rive droite. Elle est située juste après une partie du canyon déversante, qui réduit sa largeur à 10m.

Qui - Quand ?
Ouverture : Frédéric PASCAL et Tancrède MELET en Mars 2010

Ancrages : (apporter 1 plaquette de 12mm)
- Rive droite : un buis et un goujon de 12mm (amener plaquette/rondelle/écrou)
- Rive gauche : un gros chêne
Backups dans les arbres dérrière de chaque côté.

Passage de la ligne :
Il y a un passage à gué proche, il est donc facile de passer la rivière. Ensuite vous pouvez lancer la slack là où le canyon se resserre.

Ou alors avec une flèche et un arc...

Primitiv, rive droite.


Remarques : 
Highline parfaite pour débuter. Après une journée d'essai, Fred PASCAL était sur le point d'abandonner. Je l'ai passée rapidement juste avant de la désinstaller, et cela lui a redonné de la motivation. Il la passa facilement juste à la fin !
