France - Gorges du Verdon - Catch Mode - L : 85m - H : 160m

General Access : (Google Map)
Drive to La Palud sur Verdon, take the "Route des Crêtes". 200m after the "Escalès" belvedere, park on a big car park on the right, and take the biggest footpath that goes directly to the cliff a bit before it.

The line :
Where ?
The line is between a platform with several highline anchors on the cliff accessible by foot on the right to have a flat highline, and a highline anchor a bit before "Débiloff" belay platform, next to a stone on the left.

Who - When ?
Opening : J. Millot, T. Melet, M. Toquard, R. Exertier in november 2009.

Anchors :
- Right side : The platform is 3m down, there is an easy footpath to access it, but mind the stones because climbers may be under. 4 12mm bolts to equalize for force + 2 10mm bolts for backup + another bolts higher and trees.
- Left side : There are 3 12mm bolts + a big stone to put a webbing around which makes 4 anchors to equalize for force, and then go get 2 climbing belays from each side with a rope for backup.

Linking :
Easy, overturn the 2 gaps with at least 70m rope.

Rigging :
Removable pulley system is good, it is also possible to let the pulley on the left side.

Remarks :
Pre tape webbing and backup to easily remove spins.

Biggest highline so far in the Gorges at full height. After 10 days and a year of improvment Tancrede Melet and Julien Millot crossed it full man.
Such length in highline requires a very good webbing and specific backup system for technical and safety reasons, because tension involved can be close to breaking points and fall factor potentially lethal.
Video of first and second riggings here.

France - Le Boffi - Slow Match Wick / Die Zündschnur - L : 86m - H : 90m

Picture : J. Tybon. Many thanks to him.

General Access : (Google Map)
Drive to Millau, then take direction "Le Boffi - Via Ferrata". Drive to the mountain for approximately 12km, then turn right on the via ferrata direction into a path. Park at the end of it and continue walking. After 20min walking you arrive to the last via ferrata direction and the track goes left and right. Go straight behind the panel and continue 5 min to the top of the cliff. You will see the main highline spot on your left, and the kingline starts from the left part of it, to the other side of the valley.

The line :
Where ?
The line is crossing the gap where is the footpath that goes down on the climbing cliff. It starts from the highline spots on a bad rock ramp, and goes to a good platform on the other side.

Who - When ?
J. Millot, A. Lewis, J. Tybon, H. Langel, M. Payton and many others in june 2010.

Anchors : (bring the bolt hangers!)
- "Highlines" side : 4 12mm bolts for force and round a big piece of rock behind for backup. Bring bolt hangers.
- "Platform" side : 4 12mm bolts on the platform for force, and 1 10mm bolt and belays behind for backup. Bring bolt hangers.

Linking :
Not easy. Belay down from both side to link your ropes on the footpath.

Rigging :

Pulley system on the platform side or Linegrip perfect.

Remarks :

2010 Natural Games kingline, 86m that only allowed Mich Kemeter to cross !
